HAB AWARDS ANNUAL ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS<\/strong><\/h2>

The Hawaii Association of Broadcasters, Inc. (HAB) has awarded $18,500 in academic scholarships this year to assist students with tuition in their pursuit of college study and their career goal of working in the local Radio and TV broadcast industry in Hawaii.<\/p>

The following students received awards:<\/p>
Maile Cacal<\/td>Arizona State University<\/td>Arizona State University<\/td><\/tr>
Jacob Chong<\/td>Chapman University<\/td>Waiakea High School<\/td><\/tr>
Kailani Ibanez<\/td>Pacific University<\/td>Baldwin High School<\/td><\/tr>
Kate Nakamura<\/td>Arizona State University<\/td>Kauai High School<\/td><\/tr>
Kayli Pascal-Martinez<\/td>UH West Oahu<\/td>UH West Oahu<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

High school seniors and college students with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and the desire to work in the Hawaii\u2019s broadcast industry upon completion of school were eligible.<\/p>

The application process required a completed application form, a letter of recommendation from a teacher and a personal interview with the HAB scholarship committee. Application window typically opens mid-January.<\/p>
