Additional Job Description
- Produces weather and news content for reports for all platforms
- Writes and delivers weather and news stories in a clear and concise manner
- Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating weather and news programming and other content
- Responds to breaking news and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsrooms situations as required
- Works closely with the news and weather teams
- Participates in promotional activities including public appearances
- Writes web stories detailing the local forecast and news reports daily
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
- Shifts include weekends and nights
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
- Flexibility to work any shift.
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
