CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

SBE Training for Broadcast Technology

Technical Professional TrainingTo address the ongoing concern about new technical talent choosing broadcasting as a career, the SBE created the Technical Professional Training Program (TPTP). As technology and the average age and tenure of technical professionals advances (as shown in the annual SBE Compensation Survey), there is concern to adequately fulfill the technical staffing needs in the long term.

Drawing on existing SBE programs, the society has assembled a valuable service to the broadcast industry going forward. The goal: Training new entrants to the field of broadcast technology. There are four elements that combine to create the new Technical Professional Training Program.

NAB Broadcast Leadership Training

The Broadcast Leadership Training (BLT) program is a 10-month executive MBA-style program for senior level broadcasters, particularly women or persons of color who aspire to advance as group executives or station owners.

NAB Emerson Coleman Fellowship

The Emerson Coleman Fellowship is designed to increase the diversity within the broadcast industry by providing support and focus around the areas of local television and radio programming and content production.

NAB Media Sales Academy

The Media Sales Academy is a six-month fellowship program that prepares senior level college students and recent graduates for internships and entry-level sales positions at broadcast stations in media sales.
