What We Need:
We’re seeking a News Anchor/Reporter to be a part of Hawaii’s most successful morning show-Michael W. Perry & The Posse. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your experience in a fast-paced environment and continue growing your skill.
What You’ll Do:
- Anchor the news for Mainstream AC powerhouse KSSK, News Talk KHVH and as needed on other radio stations in the cluster.
- Gather and verify information through interviews, observation and research ensuring that the news reported remains objective and balanced
- Monitor sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media
- Plan, write, edit, and voice news broadcasts
- Finalize content using digital audio editing software
- Maintain crucial deadlines in order to provide news stories in a timely fashion
- Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts
- Identify technical equipment and resource requirements for recording interviews and other audio material
- Produce features and interviews as assigned
- May specialize in a particular field of news broadcasting (e.g. political, traffic, finance or military)
- Prepare written content, visual images, audio material and video footage for websites, blogs or other social-media platforms
What You’ll Need:
- Expertise using Microsoft Office suite and social networking platforms
- To be knowledgeable and up-to-date on local and national trends and/or to have specialized knowledge of subjects/events related to on-air topics
- Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation
- Well-rounded communication skills for conducting interviews
- Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar
- Proficiency in media production and broadcast systems
- Ability to plan and organize, set priorities and multi task in a fast-paced environment
- Must understand and speak Hawaiian language fluently.
- 4 – year college degree, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications is preferred

Compensation:
Salary to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data.
$14.00 – $15.82
